Beyond borders in pure nature on thin off-road tires: it’s only you, your gravel bike, the humming of your hubs, the rustling in remote forests, the flap of your vest. Sound’s like in a movie? It may become reality!
Crossing remote forests and fields in the mountainous area between Poland and Czech Republic you will pass around 300 km within 4.500 m of climbing through Lower Silesia. Visiting historical and crowded cities like Löwenberg and Hirschberg the track itself feels pure and quiet. From every part of the tour, you have the Giant Mountains next to your tail knowing for sure: you have to climb a beautiful pass for around 700 m of altitude to the “Heufuder” on 1.058 m above sea level. Rough tarmac, bumpy dirt roads, hidden trails will be your best friends all the time. Back to the starting point in Zittau you are passing the Izer mountain range with a fast changing landscape and wildlife: swampy areas, dams and reservoirs, views beyond borders and quaint restaurants will leave you with mixed feelings about the upcoming good bye. The almighty Jested-peak will keep an eye on you – he knows you are coming back later, sure!
The track is recommended for gravel bikes: with 40 mm tubeless tires you may attach the “big rings” on your rear wheel to be able to pass short, steep climbs on loose surfaces. Keep an eye on your amount of luggage: the lower the weight for all kind of bags the more fun it is to ride. It’s a tough challenge: are you in?
